Welcome to Inside Hospice!
Hospice care is my passion. My purpose as the editor of Hospice News is to use the skills I have cultivated as a journalist to support those who have the courage and compassion to ease a person’s suffering at the culmination of their existence.
I am excited to pursue this passion in a new way — through this Substack. Here, you will get to know me on a deeper level and consider my perspectives on the issues facing the hospice community. While Hospice News is a more traditional journalistic enterprise, this page will be a window to the nooks and crannies of my soul and the sometimes odd, sometimes provocative outpourings of my mind.
Like the salons, symposiums, taverns and soapboxes of years past, this will be a place for sharing ideas and stories that go beyond the headlines. You can expect to find:

I will also probably crack a joke now and again.
Through this venue, I am excited to engage with you more directly through your comments and direct communication with me and with each other. This represents a new frontier as I work not only to inform and educate our readers, but to play a more active role in bringing together the incredible community of hospice professionals.
